Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Speech and Language Therapists to join our band 6 rotations at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The posts includes four rotations across the specialty areas of Stroke, Critical Care, Health Services for Elderly People and General Medical/MAU, allowing the post holder to gain skills across a number of clinical specialities.
You will be joining a team of 11.2 SLT’s and you will be based within the different interdisciplinary teams during each rotation. You will be well supported with opportunities for peer support and access to joint working with clinical leads in each area and you will be offered opportunities for personal and professional development. The Speech and Language Therapy team run both video fluoroscopy and FEES services which you will have an opportunity to participate in.
As an autonomous practitioner the post holder will be responsible for the provision of specialist, evidence based SLT assessment, diagnosis and
treatment of adult patients in acute and rehabilitation services.
This post is a rotational post in the specialty areas of Health Services for Elderly People, Acute Medicine/ MAU, Stroke and Critical Care on a 9
monthly basis. The post holder will develop their competencies within
each specialty area working within the departmental competency
framework, taking an active role in continuing professional development
Deliver education and training to patients, carers and other healthcare
professionals including nursing staff, junior therapists, and assistants.
Undertake and present evidence-based projects and research including
departmental audit in aforementioned specialty areas, suggesting practice changes, and updating resources, under the supervision of line manager and / or clinical supervisor.
