A fantastic opportunity have arisen in Southend Hospital to join an organisation with a reputation for excellence in the way it cares for the people it serves. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy Technical Services Unit!

The Pharmacy Technical Services Unit comprises the Aseptic unit, Radiopharmacy unit and Cytotoxic unit. Supervised by the senior technician in charge, the post holder will provide support services to the Pharmacy Technical Services department, including the ordering, receipt, storage and supply of Pharmaceuticals and other stocks, the manufacture of aseptic products in both the aseptic and cytotoxic unit.

This person will also assist senior staff with support duties (such as cleaning aseptic rooms) essential to the smooth functioning on the unit.

Early and late finishes, cross site working and take part in weekend and bank holiday working.

You will be responsible for assisting under supervision of the Specialist technician and Team Leaders with the compounding of Cytotoxic drugs, PCA solutions, Intravenous additives and other aseptically prepared products within the Pharmacy Technical Services Unit.

You will also assist senior staff with support duties (such as cleaning) essential to the smooth functioning on the unit.

Cleaning equipment and unit, unpacking stores and assembling items.

Please note that this role will close early should sufficient applications be received.
