Summary
Assistant Support Worker - £24,570 pa (37.5 hours per week)About the RoleWe currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Support Worker at our supported living service, Oxleys Road. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week).At Oxleys Road, we are dedicated to supporting adults with mental health concerns, helping them develop the skills needed to live independently and safely within the wider community. We also believe in the importance of enjoying life, so we offer activities to reduce boredom and provide entertainment for those we support.Your role will involve assisting with daily living tasks such as basic cooking, laundry, travel training, budgeting, and shopping. While you will often work independently with the individuals we support, there is usually another staff member on site. However, if you are working a late shift followed by a sleep-in, you will have access to an on-call contact for support.As an Assistant Support Worker you will;Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.You will not be providing personal care, but your role will involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs.Need to have a full UK drivers’ licence and access to a car for work purposes during shift.Additionally, you will also be able to:Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday workingPerform at least one sleep in per week as part of your shift (allowance of £52.78 paid)Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we supportBe flexible in your approach to work and demonstrate resilience in a challenging, but rewarding environmentHave a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with mental disabilitiesIt is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle for work purposes and are happy to do sleep-ins.
