Summary
GV Technician / HGV Fitter / Truck Mechanic
Location: Thatcham
Salary: £20 per hour + Overtime at 1.5x
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 – 40 hours per week (No shifts)

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Technician, HGV Fitter or Truck Mechanic to join a well-run depot in Thatcham. You’ll be maintaining a fleet of commercial vehicles in a clean, modern workshop with no weekend work and great team culture.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / Truck Mechanic
• Service, inspect and repair HGVs to high standards
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs
• Record completed work accurately on job cards and systems
• Work independently or within the team to maintain workshop efficiency
• Follow all health and safety procedures in the workshop
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / Truck Technician / HGV Mechanic
Essential
• Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or HGV Fitter
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent fault-finding and repair skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
• Flexible and proactive attitude
• Basic IT/compliance recording experience
