Summary
Consultant Psychiatrist – City North LMHT (10 PAs, Full-Time, Permanent)
We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our City North Local Mental Health Team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to lead and shape mental health care delivery.
A Golden Hello payment of 20% of the minimum point on the National Consultant (2003) contract is available.
You will play a key role in patient assessment and management, GP liaison, MDT meetings, and medicolegal work (MHA/Sec 12). The post includes clinical leadership, supervision, and participation in the day duty on-call rota. You’ll contribute to service transformation and work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.
The Trust is part of the North School of Psychiatry, East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery. Our Director of Medical Education is Dr Kehinde Junaid, and the Head of School is Dr Debasis Das.
DBS Notice: Applicants must pay for their DBS check (£26.40 standard / £54.40 enhanced), deducted from salary over two months. Annual DBS Update Service fee is £16.

The focus of the role will include the assessment and management of new and existing patients, GP liaison, MDT meetings, medicolegal work (MHA/ Sec 12) and participation in on-call rotas. There will be an emphasis on providing leadership and consultancy to the team and contribute to the transformation programme.

• The number of new medical assessment does vary. The locality team will receive up to 25 referrals per week, most taken on by service and most seen by service unless there was a specific medical need as the first assessment. For community posts, numbers of referrals, team meetings, supervision of team members.
