An employee-owned, UKAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and 9001 accredited calibration laboratory is seeking a competent and self-motivated Calibration Technician to join our expanding team. We offer a wide and growing range of accredited services across multiple technical fields.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for rapid career progression based on demonstrated competence and a willingness to develop new skills in additional areas of accreditation.
- Undertake hands on calibrations, method validations and uncertainty calculations to maintain and advance the range of accreditations and compliance required for business operations.
- Champion calibration and operational best practices.
- Lead process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Develop a quality and safety culture.
- Continually identify opportunities for revenue growth whilst
putting service to the client at the forefront of such actions.
- Adherence to client's calibration specifications/requirements
and ISO 17025 systems and procedures.
- On time delivery of technical reports.
- Individually and through the calibration team, upkeep a culture of
continuous improvement and quality excellence through
systems, processes, training and expectations.
- Collaborate with team members and Managers to design and implement solutions that will continually improve effectiveness and
efficiencies.
- Problem solving of complex calibration issues within the department and ensure that methodologies are implemented and adopted.
- Facilitate investigations and resolution of validation failures, process deviations, abnormal results, customer complaints and inquiries, and other quality performance indicators.
- Anticipate and identify customer needs. Seek ways to continually improve customer satisfaction.
- Review and implement relevant calibration standard operating procedures.
- Ensure adequate planned maintenance of all calibration equipment.
- Assist with ensuring that the relevant quality accreditation is maintained through full procedural compliance.
- Liaise and assist the Quality department as appropriate to ensure success of internal and external audits.
- Undertake such other reasonable duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position as may be allocated by management from time to time.
Essential Skills =
- 12 months experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
- GSCE or equivalent level C/4 or above in English, Maths and Science.
- Working effectively and respectfully with others.
- Demonstrating a strong work ethic and reliability
Desirable Skills =
- UKAS signatory
- Experience in working within, Temperature, Humidity, Electrical, Infrared, Pressure or Time.
- Analytically minded.
- IT Literate – able to use Microsoft and in house packages.
- Full UK driving licence.
