About the Role
This school is seeking a dependable and proactive School Caretaker to join their team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs on the school site.
- Ensure the premises are clean, secure, and well-presented.
- Open and lock the school daily, including alarm checks.
- Support with health and safety checks and compliance.
- Assist with deliveries, furniture moves, and room setups.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, paths, and car parks.
- Respond to emergencies and report any hazards or issues promptly.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities (preferred).
- Basic DIY skills and familiarity with cleaning equipment.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
