This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £37,938 - £40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities.



This post attracts a Market Supplement of £3,383 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments.



We are looking for a Social Worker to join Risca Locality Team. The team are responsible for undertaking assessments of need, Child Protection Investigations, PLO and Care Proceedings.



The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and reviewing the support needs of both the children and their parents and putting into place appropriate interventions.



You will have excellent assessment skills and the ability to engage with children and their families effectively, with a focus on wellbeing and safety of the child. You will be skilled in developing and sustaining effective multi-agency working and will closely collaborate with professionals of every discipline.



For the role, we ask that you have:

A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor.
Social Workers qualifying after 1 April 2016 are required to complete the Consolidation of Practice qualification within the first three years of practice.
Up to date knowledge of current legislation Research and Practice issues in childcare.
Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
