Summary
We are looking for 2 Operatives to start asap
Duties:
To undertake and operate vehicles up to 3.5 tonne for maintenance tasks around Bedford such as fly tipping / litter / dog foul / graffiti and other maintenance needs associated with Street Scene network.
To assist in the management of delegated operational environmental staff within delegated areas of responsibility including Street Scene Operations.
To undertake operational functions to support environmental operatives and drivers as required.
To Undertake the promotion and marketing of Grounds Maintenance Services to increase opportunities to the council.
Essential Criteria:
Must hold a Full/ Valid UK Licence with the ability to drive up to 3.5 tonnes
Ability to complete crew rounds sheets, timesheet's, annual leave requests and other administrative records in accordance with procedures
Must be able to work on own initiative, deal and solve unanticipated problems and situations independently, within the councils policies and procedures.
Good ICT & experience in MS software, including office, word, excel, outlook and internet and be able to use tablets / handhelds to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the works order, details recorded and works are closed off using these devices.
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours - Monday to Friday, 5.30 am till 1 pm, 37 hours per week
Some weekend, bank holidays working and be part of an on-call rota system as required.
