Link3 Recruitment is a specialist education recruitment agency, proudly partnering with further education institutions across the UK. We are currently recruiting a Learning Support Trainer on behalf of a respected Derby-based college. The role is based on site, working within the Student Experience & Pastoral Team, supporting neurodiverse learners through personalised and impactful learning support.
The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, & engaging learning environment across base rooms on campus. The Learning Support Trainer will provide tailored support to students through 1:1 and small group sessions, while managing the daily operations of the Learning Support Base Rooms. You will also act as a Mental Health First Aider, supporting emotional wellbeing & promoting resilience among students.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver targeted 1:1 & small group coaching & support sessions

Promote inclusive learning environments across base-room settings

Manage the daily routines & environment of the Learning Support Base Rooms

Identify support needs & develop personalised strategies for student success

Collaborate with SEND & ALS teams to ensure individual needs are met

Provide mental health first aid & contribute to pastoral wellbeing strategies

Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, & professional standards at all times
Minimum RequirementsTo be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following:

Experience:
-
Previous experience in learning support, SEND, or pastoral education support
-
Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice & sector frameworks
-
Background in further education settings is desirable

Qualifications:
-
Relevant qualifications in education, support work, or youth services
-
Mental Health First Aid training (or willingness to complete it)

Skills:

Passionate, positive, & motivated with a strong commitment to inclusive education

Excellent communication, organisation, & interpersonal skills
-
Ability to take initiative & contribute to new support strategies
