About the role
The Bodleian Law Library is one of the largest academic law libraries in the country, and provides services to readers from the University, wider academia, and the legal profession.
You will supervise the work of the Term Time Library Assistants, answer enquiries from a wide range of Library users, carry out general reading room duties including issuing and re-shelving books, and supervise the Library closing routines.
You will help readers to use the online catalogue and provide initial assistance with equipment that includes printers and photocopiers. Other tasks include scanning, loose-leaf filing, and collecting statistics. You will receive training in these tasks if you need it.
You will normally work 6 hours per week, term-time only.
• Thursday & Friday: 7pm – 10pm

Michaelmas Term: Sun, 12 October to Sat, 6 December 2025
Hilary Term: Sun, 18 January to Sat 14 March 2026
Trinity Term: Sun 26 April to Sat 20 June 2026

About You
You are an effective and courteous communicator with a commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. You are IT literate, work carefully and accurately, and show discretion when dealing with sensitive information. Experience working in a library or similar setting is desirable. Good timekeeping is essential.
