Summary

We have a vacancy for a Security Systems Officer.

You will have a responsibility for auditing all security systems such as CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms and reporting any faults via the appropriate software. To this end you should be technically minded and have experience of working with these types of systems. You will be the main point of contact for staff and contractors who have queries or wish to report faults on these systems so you should be committed to good Customer Service and have a desire to ensure Lancaster University provides a Safe and Secure campus for all. You will be required to provide Management Reports on the various Security Systems so a good knowledge of Microsoft Systems is also required. You will have strong communication skills and be able to speak to people at all levels of the university so strong communication skills are essential. The post is being offered on an indefinite basis working 36.5 hours per week Monday to Friday although there may occasionally be a requirement to work over a weekend for specific events.

The emphasis of the Security Systems Officer is to contribute to a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors at all times. You will be a committed, friendly, team player who is customer focused.

You will be experienced in all aspects of the Job Description.

You should be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English, reliable with an excellent attendance record, be committed to high standards, be able to work on your own initiative and have a flexible approach and attitude to solving day to day problems. You should also have a willingness to undergo development training.
