Summary
Join Our Mission to Make a Real Difference - as the Family Support Worker at Brookfields Specialist Education School
Are you a compassionate, motivated individual who believes in the power of education to transform lives? At Brookfields School, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional learning environment for children and young people with a range of physical, learning, and emotional needs. We are now looking for a Family Support Worker to join our caring and dynamic team - someone who will help us build brighter futures for our students and their families.
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in nurturing strong, supportive relationships between school, home, and the wider community. Working closely with students and their families, your aim will be to remove barriers to learning by promoting attendance, positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and healthy living - both in school and beyond.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who thrives on making a tangible difference. You will:
- Work in partnership with a skilled team of support staff, teachers, and external professionals.
- Create and deliver targeted support initiatives tailored to the individual needs of our students and families.
- Act as a vital link between families and services such as education, social care, health, housing, and the police - ensuring no child or family is left without the help they need.
- Help to develop resources and strategies that support student engagement, development, and success.
We are seeking someone with:
- Proven experience working with educational services and multi-agency teams.
- The ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with families, students, and professionals.
- A background in supporting SEN/vulnerable children and families.
- Resilience, empathy, and a practical, solution-focused mindset.
Experience in supporting students with behavioural, emotional, or medical needs (for example, epilepsy) is beneficial - but most importantly, we're looking for someone with dedication, and the desire to grow.
The role is primarily based at school but will involve regular home visits and travel to other settings, so a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
Joining Brookfields means becoming part of a passionate, supportive community committed to excellence in SEN education and student development. If you're driven to create positive experiences for students and families, we'd love to hear from you.
