Summary

This post holder will be an integral part of the Member Learning and Engagement team, which provides services to Members of the Senedd (Members), and their staff across Wales, under the leadership of the Head of Member Liaison.

The team delivers a varied programme of training and development activities and has a lead responsibility for engagement with Members and their support staff on Senedd Commission services and initiatives to support them in fulfilling their roles.
At this time we are preparing to welcome Members of the Seventh Senedd. This will involve the delivery of a new Member services information hub to simplify in-person interaction about Commission services for Members, as well as organisation of a welcome programme to equip new and returning Members with the information and tools to deliver their roles at pace.

You will play a leading role in arranging and managing engagement activities with Members and their support staff, at an individual, team and organisational level. You will develop effective working relationships with the political party groups to gain buy-in to Commission services and ensure Members are well informed of developments that affect their work.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, you will be expected to deliver high levels of customer services, have strong organisational skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tasks in an energetic and flexible way. You will need to be professional and articulate in presentation and must have excellent communication skills.

You will be passionate about supporting Members and their staff to learn and grow. You will work with and support the Training manager to identify the ongoing training needs of Members and their support staff, at an individual, team and organisational level.

You will be future-focused and show curiosity in developing new ideas. You will be driven and motivate the team to deliver an excellent service, and training programme.

You will need to identify and, where possible, resolve issues arising for Members by identifying service and, where appropriate, training solutions. Being astute and able to recognise problems and escalate as appropriate is also a key attribute.
