Summary
Plumber & Plumber's Mate - | York | 21st July Start Location: Goodricke Campus, University of York
Duration: Temporary Project (Approx.4-6 weeks)
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: Competitive hourly rates (DOE) + Overtime Available
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Hays Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading facilities management provider in York. We are seeking a
Qualified Plumber and a Plumber's Mate to assist with the replacement of 120 radiators across accommodation blocks.

This is a confidential client role. Full details will be disclosed at a later stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Removal and installation of radiators in occupied student accommodation
- Assisting with draining, flushing, and refilling heating systems
- Working efficiently to meet project deadlines
- Ensuring all work is compliant with health and safety standards
- Supporting the lead plumber with tools, materials, and logistics (Plumber's Mate)
✅ Requirements:Plumber:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
- Experience with radiator and heating system installations
- Own tools and PPE
Plumber's Mate:
- Previous experience assisting on plumbing projects
- Good understanding of site safety
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- CSCS card preferred
