Are you an experienced Plant Fitter with a passion for heavy machinery? We’re seeking skilled Plant Engineers to join our dynamic Plant Operations Division. In this hands-on role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and servicing our extensive hire fleet, ensuring reliability and top performance across a wide range of projects.

How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions:
As a Plant Fitter, your expertise is vital to keeping our fleet hire-ready and operating at its best. You’ll play a key role in delivering dependable, high-quality equipment that meets our customers’ needs, on time, every time.
By proactively identifying and resolving issues, you’ll minimise downtime, maintain service reliability, and contribute directly to the success of our hire operations. Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, delivering efficient and effective solutions.
• Ensure all machinery operates at optimal performance levels.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential faults before they escalate.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a positive and productive workplace.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and safe work procedures.
• Escalate concerns promptly to supervisors or the Depot Manager.
• Uphold Jarvie Plant’s high standards and contribute to excellent customer service

What Will Make You a Great Fit
We’re looking for someone who brings:
• Relevant qualifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, HND).
• Strong knowledge of heavy plant systems and proven industry experience.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A customer-focused mindset and commitment to service excellence.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive, safety-conscious approach in a busy operational setting.
