PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Sales Lead will be instrumental in establishing Nova Express Recruit as a trusted, go-to recruitment solution for SMEs across Surrey. This role combines strategic sales leadership with relationship-building and market insight, ensuring that the platform delivers real value to employers while generating sustainable revenue. The Sales Lead will champion inclusive hiring practices and help SMEs discover the benefits of intelligent, bias-reducing recruitment tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Subscription Sales & Onboarding: Lead the end-to-end sales process for Nova Express Recruit’s tiered subscription packages. Guide SMEs through onboarding, helping them understand platform features, match quality, and how to maximise their recruitment outcomes.
Employer Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with SME owners, HR leads, and decision-makers across Surrey. Develop a deep understanding of their hiring needs and position Nova Express Recruit as a cost-effective, inclusive alternative to traditional recruitment methods.
Network Development: Actively engage with chambers of commerce, business networks, and employer groups to raise awareness of the platform. Represent NovaWorks at local events, forums, and roundtables to promote inclusive hiring and build strategic partnerships.
Event Facilitation: Host monthly employer roundtables and networking events to showcase platform features, share success stories, and foster dialogue around inclusive recruitment practices.
Market Insight & Feedback: Act as the voice of the employer within the project team. Provide regular feedback to the product and operations teams to ensure platform features, pricing, and support evolve in line with SME needs and market trends.
Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance, conversion rates, and customer retention. Use data to refine outreach strategies, improve onboarding processes, and inform future growth plans.
PLEASE NOTE: The responsibilities listed above are key tasks for this role, but the postholder may be required to support with additional duties as needed to meet the evolving needs of the business.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:
Proven experience in sales, business development, or client acquisition, ideally within SME or recruitment sectors.
Comfortable with speaking and presenting to diverse audiences, including business owners and senior decision-makers.
Skilled in bypassing gatekeepers and navigating complex organisational structures to reach key stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in converting leads into paying customers and maintaining long-term client relationships.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with a consultative approach to selling.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
Empathetic and people-focused, with a genuine interest in promoting inclusive hiring practices.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
