Summary

Are you aged 18 plus and looking to get into work? Raven Housing Trust might just have what you are looking for! We’re currently recruiting for a Step up to work Facilities Operative Assistant to join our Facilities Team.

‘Real’ paid work experience placement for up to 12 months. The Step Up to Work Programme is open to people aged 18 plus, who live in East Surrey. You must be currently unemployed for over 3 months and looking to gain essential skills and work experience to enhance your future employment prospects.

What you’ll achieve in the role:

The overall purpose of this role is to support the Facilities team with answering phones, contacting clients, updating the excel database and creating publicity and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

Stock control, ensuring that stock items such as notepads, tea bags, and coffee are regularly replenished and instructing reorder of stock when needed.
Having the opportunity to shadow the Facilities Manager and gain a good insight into the building upgrade works happening at Raven House, for example the replacement of the lifts.
General facilities related administrative tasks including record keeping for lockers, fobs and keys, organising meetings, responding to and sending emails from the Facilities inbox, and supporting Raven House related projects and activities.
Taking part in weekly fire alarm testing and emergency door release checks.

What you’ll bring to Raven:

For this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

Good verbal and written skills
Confidence and ability to write emails
Basic IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and the ability to learn new IT systems quickly
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with others, taking account of customer service principles and concepts.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
