Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experiencedDeputy Ultrasound Leadto join the imaging team atWexham Park Hospital. Working closely under the guidance of the Ultrasound Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting ultrasound services across a range of sites, including both acute and community-based settings.

This position is ideal for a skilled sonographer with proven leadership experience and a strong background in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations. You will help oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and supporting the professional development of team members.

Deputised responsibility for the management of the Ultrasound service and Sonographers providing clinical leadership

Ensure the delivery of a high quality, safe and responsive service

Perform a wide range of Ultrasound examinations at expert level

Develop the team practice to a high standard

Ensure the quality of work is audited at all stages

Maintains the high standards of the department by contributing to individual and team objectives

Based at Wexham Park Hospital, but also working across our offsites.

• Manage ultrasound service waiting lists, capacity, and demand using a variety of monitoring tools and data analysis.
• Ensure service quality is upheld at all levels—from patient satisfaction and experience to clinical outcomes and user feedback.
• Maintain consistently high standards in the delivery of all ultrasound procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices and professional guidelines.
• Lead the development and implementation of new ultrasound techniques and services in line with clinical innovation and patient need.
• Oversee quality control measures for all ultrasound equipment, ensuring operational safety and compliance with maintenance schedules.
• Maintain responsibility for ultrasound stock management, equipment replacement planning, and inventory control.
• Conduct clinical and non-clinical audits to ensure service quality aligns with the organizational quality improvement agenda.
• Undertake and document risk assessments, especially in relation to Retained Foreign Objects (RSI) and other potential service risks.
