Summary

Teaching Assistant (SEMH)
Start Date: September 2025

Aura Education have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and energetic Teaching Assistant (TA) with social emotional and mental health (SEMH) experience to join their support staff team in a SEND school in the L30 area of Sefton. This new role will provide you with the right support and guidance from the teaching staff, undertaking support programmes that enable access to learning for all pupils.

This full-time, long-term role will run for the full academic year for the right fit candidate.

Starting at 8.30am and finishing at 3.30pm, there is a competitive daily rate of £103 per day.

The role: This is supporting in a Year 4/5 class. The children follow a full curriculum as well as having access and opportunities for other learning experiences. It is important you have strong behaviour management skills and experience and be a positive role model to the children.

As a Teaching Assistant (SEMH) you will have:
· Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs especially pupils with social and emotional issues.
· A good understanding of the national curriculum at primary and/or secondary level
· Good understanding of child development and learning
· The ability to demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skills.
· A dedication to build positive relationships with pupils.


You will need suitable reference checks and a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to get one in process before the start date.
