Are you passionate about food, leadership, and creating a great experience for students?

As a Catering Supervisor with ISS, you’ll play a key role in launching a brand-new school kitchen, supporting our catering teams to deliver high-quality meals and outstanding service. You’ll lead by example, setting standards, training staff, and helping to shape a positive, customer-focused culture.

The Role

Support the opening of a brand-new kitchen within a school (training and induction will take place at another location)

Lead and motivate site-based catering teams to consistently deliver a high standard of service

Maintain a hands-on presence across the contract, supporting kitchen managers and staff

Collaborate with clients, students, and teams to continuously improve service and satisfaction

Ensure all health & safety, food hygiene, and operational procedures are followed to the highest standard

Contribute to the creation of appealing menus and ensure compliance with dietary, cultural, and allergen requirements

Take ownership of food quality, presentation, portion control, and waste reduction

Monitor costs, stock, and portioning in line with budget targets

Deliver training, inductions, and team development, ensuring everyone is equipped for success

Act as a health & safety champion, promoting safe practices and reporting any risks promptly

About You

Experience as a Kitchen Manager in education catering or the potential to develop from a Senior or Assistant Catering role with the right training and attitude

Level 2 or 3 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to complete within the first 3 months)

Strong food preparation and cooking skills, with a passion for quality and presentation

Good knowledge of health & safety, food hygiene, and allergen compliance

Able to work independently and travel across the contract as needed

Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

Organised, proactive, and motivated by customer satisfaction

Comfortable using digital systems and reporting tools

New team members will be encouraged to join our structured training programmes and apprenticeships to support their growth and development within ISS.
