Exam Steward
Location: On-site, Edinburgh
Starting: 8th August - 3–4 weeks (Ad hoc basis)
Hours: 09:15 – 15:50 (must be flexible as finish times may vary)
Pay: £12.21 per hour
We are currently recruiting Exam Stewards to support a busy exam period in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills and a professional approach to join a supportive team on a short-term basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- First Point of Contact: Welcome candidates as they arrive and provide clear instructions
- Logistical Support: Assist with setting up exam venues and managing the registration process
- Maintaining Order: Ensure a smooth candidate flow, prevent overlap between sessions, and support a calm, structured environment
- Customer Service: Respond to candidate queries and provide support throughout the day
- General Duties: Ad hoc tasks as required
Key Skills Required:
- Warm and Welcoming Manner: Friendly and approachable to help candidates feel at ease
- Professionalism: Presentable and reliable, maintaining high standards at all times
- Organisation & Time Management: Able to multitask and stay on top of responsibilities
- Strong Communication: Clear and confident in dealing with candidates, staff, and visitors
- Adaptability: Quick thinking and able to respond effectively to unexpected situations
