As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical building services designs across a variety of projects. You'll work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to all stages of the design process-from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely, while engaging in technically rewarding and diverse projects.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and domestic water services
- Producing engineering calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
- Coordinating with other disciplines such as electrical, structural, and architectural teams
- Supporting the preparation of tender and construction documentation
- Using tools such as IES, AutoCAD, and Revit to develop accurate and coordinated designs
What you'll need to succeed
- To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- Experience delivering mechanical designs in a consultancy or design-and-build environment
- Proficiency with design software such as IES, Revit, and AutoCAD
- A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
- Progress towards professional registration (e.g. CIBSE or IMechE) is desirable
