Autism Plus is a charity committed to supporting people with autism and other complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. Our charity shop in Thorne provides a welcoming environment for the local community while offering meaningful work opportunities for individuals we support.

We are looking for a friendly, supportive, and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team. In this role, you’ll help run the day to day operations of the shop, delivering excellent customer service and supporting the people we work alongside to build confidence and develop skills. This position is to cover the shop manager’s regular day off, with additional hours available to cover holidays and sickness as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and helpful service to all customers.
- Operate the till and handle transactions responsibly.
- Accept and process donations in line with shop procedures.
- Support volunteers.
- Help maintain a clean, tidy, and organised shop environment.
- Assist with pricing, stock rotation, and visual merchandising.
- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and volunteers.

What We're Looking For:
- A positive, person centred attitude.
- Friendly and respectful communication skills.
- A willingness to support others and work as part of a team.
- Reliability and flexibility, particularly around holiday and sickness cover.
- Previous experience in retail is helpful but not essential – we value the right attitude and willingness to learn.
