Summary
Provide high-quality day-to-day care for in-patients on the stroke wards. Undertake clerking of new admissions, including comprehensive history taking, examination, and formulation of management plans. Plan and coordinate investigations and ongoing management in collaboration with the wider clinical team. Attend and contribute to outpatient stroke and TIA clinics. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues across primary and secondary care, including general practitioners. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds. Support junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and supervision as appropriate. Engage in audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
