VEHICLE MECHANIC
Introduction
North Fire Engineering Ltd is an innovative UK manufacturer based in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire specialising in vehicle conversion of Firefighting and Rescue vehicles. We engage in a broad range of business activities including design and manufacture and our world-class team of skilled Engineers build vehicles to specification using a variety of production methods, engineering machinery and tools.
We are hugely proud of our accumulated ability to engineer and manufacture operational vehicles for the most demanding roles and to the highest possible standards.
We are now looking to add to our Team and are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for two experienced Vehicle Mechanics, to come and work in our new, modern and purpose-built workshop based in Mytholmroyd. Joining our world-class, highly skilled best Team of its kind, will provide the chance for the right candidates to work on the most exciting of vehicle build projects, serving our front-line fire and rescue services, and which our team are all passionate about.
Candidates will have previous experience working in a dealership environment or vehicle workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Working on our Firefighting vehicles you will be required to carry out:
• General mechanical fittings
• Electrical installations
• Suspension upgrades
• Water tank installations
This list is not exhaustive, the role will be varied and from time to time you may be asked to carry out other duties, and in busy periods assist with logistics management and booking in and booking out procedures, in line with our commitment to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for two highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Technicians. You will be a good all rounder, and any experience in vehicle conversions and the use of power tools and engineering machinery would be an advantage.
A full UK Driving License is essential
Applicants must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Excellent communication skills
You will work well in a small Team and ensure efficient and timely completion of work

• £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)
• Monday to Thursday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm / 30 minutes for lunch
• Fridays 7.00 am to 2.00 pm / 30 minutes for lunch
• Based on 40.5 hours per week
• Overtime available
