Summary
We welcome applications from Sonographers with multiple skillsets with experience to scan General, Gynecology and Obstetrics ultrasound. All successful candidates will be supported by a preceptorship program based on their level of experience and skills. Candidates must hold either a Pg Cert / Dip / MSc or DMU qualification in Medical Ultrasound and professional registration with a statutory regulated body (such as the
HCPC) or the Register for Clinical Technologists. Successful candidates will provide a 7-day service with 12-hour days, working 8am -8pm shift pattern over 7 days planned on a rolling Rota to meet service demand
We offer a wide range of specialties including Acute referrals from A/E and Ambulatoryservices, Inpatients, Small part s, DVT, Paediatric and Fertility scans. MSK scanning is supported through in-house training and CASE accredited post graduate qualification subject to funding. Novel ways of working and role expansion to develop enhanced and
advanced clinical pathways are both supported and encouraged.

The post-holder will work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team in Imaging, liaising with those involved to ensure that appropriate imaging, reporting and management of the patient is provided when and where necessary. They will maintain a high professional and technical standard of ultrasound imaging with cross site rotation covering The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Mile End Hospital.
Our Sonographers undertake clinical work within established quality standards of practice, adhering to Ultrasound guidelines such as those published by BMUS, RCOG, RCR and NICE. The post-holder will work within departmental protocols as a practitioner in the delivery of all ultrasound imaging, reporting and management of the patient.
The post-holder will also liaise with key Lead Nurses, Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the Women’s Health Division, as well as the Radiologists in the General Ultrasound Department. In the absence of a Lead Sonographer, the post-holder will oversee the day-to-day workload
to ensure staff and resources are allocated to the area and managed effectively.
The post holder will promote patient advocacy and communicate effectively with other health care professionals together with outside agencies regarding patient care and progress.
