Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Legal Secretary to join our dynamic and growing legal team in Coventry. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a thorough understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing essential support to our legal professionals and contributing to the overall efficiency of our practice.
Duties
• Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
• Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high level of accuracy.
• Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcribe legal documents as required.
• Maintain an organised filing system for both electronic and paper documents, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
• Utilise Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel to create spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Assist in the preparation of court documents and filings while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Manage office supplies inventory and assist with general office administration tasks.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Legal Secretary is required for this position.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) with excellent IT skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Experience in audio typing is highly desirable.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical abilities.
