I am looking for a self-employed support worker to support me in my own home and to allow my husband a regular break from his caring role.

I have stage 4 Parkinson's disease, arthritis, and double vision in one eye, caused by a cancer in my eye, (Hugoliphant), which is still growing. I can also experience hallucinations, including some auditory ones, dyskinesia, (involuntary movements), caused by medication, poor memory, and disrupted REM sleep.

I have a good insight into what support is required to meet my needs. I have a background in psychoanalysis which has allowed me to remain more aware and positive around my situation.

I would require you to be in the flat with me due to falls risk, to support to prompt medication and support with meal and drink preparation if my husband is out for an extended period. Support to complete domestic tasks and laundry due to poor dexterity and falls risk.

I would require support with all meal and drink preparation. Due to dyskinesia and frequency of uncontrollable large movements, I cannot safely prepare food and would be at a high risk of dropping items and injury from scalds and burns. I may need prompting to eat and drink and can do so independently once food is prepared but would require meat to be cut up for me.

I need support to safely access the community due to falls risk. I have a wheeled walker and a walking stick but like to hold your arm.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Administration
- Housekeeping
- Cooking

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
- Patient and Kind
