Summary
Key responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to the following: Act as the main point of contact for the member practices adult and child safeguarding administration and GP leads. Act as the main PCN point of contact for external safeguarding services and organisations. Coordinate quarterly PCN level safeguarding meetings including agendas, minute taking and distribution and action any outcomes as necessary. Ensure latest guidance and information (including training opportunities) is shared with the relevant team members. Attend relevant training courses and forward training information and updates to the relevant team members. Arrange various 1:1 safeguarding meeting Maintain and continue to improve communication and links with external safeguarding services and organisations. Attend child protection meetings and Team around the Family (TAF) meetings on occasion and be a conduit between them and GPs as appropriate for decisions involving the child/family. Attend relevant adult safeguarding meetings which would involve health and social care professionals and family members of patients. Compile safeguarding reports on behalf of and in liaison with the member practices GPs in preparation for safeguarding meetings. Maintain the safeguarding contact list and ensure it is kept up to date. To ensure external services and organisations are aware of any relevant changes in PCN personnel or procedures in relation to safeguarding. Ensure each practice maintains its own safeguarding register and it is kept up to date and accurate. Undertake and coordinate safeguarding audits across the PCN. Keep up to date with latest safeguarding guidance and rules. Coordinate and lead safeguarding administrator meetings as and when required. Share good practice and continue to roll out standardised processes and systems. Ensuring these processes and systems are fully embedded within each practiced and maintained. Manage any pilot projects relating to safeguarding workstreams. Receive and action tasks from clinicians and the administration teams. Chase reports and updates from social workers, school nurses, health visitors and other professionals from external children and adult services and organisations. Access and add relevant information to Rights for Children (central online portal) for Early Help and feedback and update the GPs as needed. Liaise with other PCN services as needed. This job will be located in all three of the practices (Ilfracombe, Braunton, South Molton) and the job will require spending time in each practice.
