About the role

Rugby Borough Council are seeking a committed and community-minded individual to serve as Vice Chair of the Audit and Ethics Committee. This is an attractive role for someone who is passionate about good governance, transparency, and ethical leadership.

As Vice Chair, you will support the Chair in overseeing the Council’s audit processes, risk management, and ethical standards. You will play a key role in ensuring accountability and integrity in public service. The role is a fixed term for a period of 4 years.

There will be the requirement to attend approximately 4–6 meetings per year alongside preparation time for reviewing reports and documentation

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in leading committee meetings and setting agendas
Review internal and external audit reports
Promote high standards of conduct among elected members
Provide independent oversight of governance and risk frameworks

About you

You will need to have experience in audit, finance, governance, or ethics with strong analytical and communication skills. You’ll be able to demonstrate a commitment to public service and impartiality and the ability to work collaboratively with Councillors and Officers.
