Description
We are seeking an experienced Children's SC - Senior Practitioner for our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the protection and welfare of children and young people in our community. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for leading assessments and coordinating interventions in order to safeguard vulnerable children. This role requires an individual who possesses in-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, frameworks, and best practices. Your expertise will guide and support social workers and partner agencies in their efforts to address complex safeguarding issues effectively. You will also be tasked with providing training and mentoring to junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team. Additionally, you will engage with families, children, and external partners, ensuring a holistic approach to support and intervention. By collaborating closely with statutory and voluntary agencies, you will contribute to the strategic objectives of the MASH team while ensuring compliance with local and national guidelines for safeguarding. Responsibilities
Lead and oversee child protection assessments and case management within the MASH team.
Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding vulnerable children.
Provide expert guidance and support to social workers and multidisciplinary teams.
Conduct and facilitate training sessions for staff on child protection practices and legislation.
Monitor and evaluate outcomes of intervention plans to improve service delivery.
Foster strong relationships with families, children, and community resources to promote effective support.
Prepare reports and documentation for case reviews and internal audits, ensuring compliance with safeguarding standards.
Requirements
Qualified social worker with a relevant degree and valid registration.
Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and risk assessment.
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and local safeguarding procedures.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with experience in guiding a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and professionals.
Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions under pressure.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices in child welfare.

Hours Per Week: 36.00

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £30.74
