Summary
The role Receptionist to work on a part time basis, around 20 hours per week. Shift pattern to be agreed between the opening hours of 7.15am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility to cover team annual leave absence is essential. This post provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, hardworking and reliable individual to join our reception team. Previous experience of working as a receptionist in healthcare setting is essential. Requirements for this post: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to remain calm, courteous and professional when working under pressure and dealing with difficult situations Respectful of patient confidentiality at all times, ideally previous experience of working within a confidential environment Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Good IT knowledge and skills, ideally previous experience of clinical systems, such as SystmOne and Microsoft packages including MS Teams Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology Ability to be flexible to provide holiday/sickness absence cover in addition to contracted hours Duties may vary from time to time under the direction of the management team, depending on current and evolving practice workload and staff levels Personal Characteristics Confident and resilient Flexible, reliable, professional and discreet Friendly and welcoming Empathetic, patient and understanding Work accurately and methodically in accordance with procedures Be a team player but also able to work alone using their own initiative Confident and able to flex style to deal with range of patients Training and development Previous experience of a similar role is preferred. However, training will be provided. This includes an induction into the role, how to use the IT and phone equipment and the procedures to follow.
