Summary

Job Description

Based at Kinloch Care Centre, Carnoustie, covering the Angus area.

This job is workstyle 4 - Hybrid.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings, and collaboration.

You will work 21.75 hours per week, by arrangement.

This job is temporary for up to 18 months from date of appointment.

We offer flexibility regarding the distribution of these hours, allowing you to increase your weekly hours, which will reduce the length of the temporary contract.

You will work as part of the Community Care Team. You will provide information and advice to internal and external customers in relation to Occupational Therapy services. You will ensure good customer care is provided and that all the actions agreed with clients are promptly actioned. Experience of working as part of a team is desirable.

You will be responsible for assessing the needs of individuals under and over 65 including children living in the community who are affected by disability/ illness. You will visit and assess people in their own home environment throughout Angus. You will focus specifically on reviewing and assessing people with Bed Grab Handle equipment to ensure our compliance with recent guidance issued around the provision of this type of solution.

You will be responsible for identifying any changes or risks to clients with Bed Grab Handles and the need for any other equipment and/ or adaptations to promote and maintain the person’s independence. You will also be responsible for providing advice and information in relation to other community care services.

You will work closely with colleagues from Occupational Therapy, Community Care, NHS and external services. Experience of working as part of a team, resolving problems and seeking guidance are required.

You must have experience of working with people with a disability and knowledge of varying disabilities is desirable.

You must also have good oral and written communication, reporting and IT skills and be able to work to and within departmental policies. The ability to work flexibly, on your own initiative are essential as is the ability to maintain accurate records and prioritise your own workload.

You will be required to travel throughout Angus in the course of your duties and you will be required to provide your own vehicle. You must also ensure that your motor insurance policy covers business use.

Internal and external applications on a secondment basis will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager / organisation.
