The HICA Group has a exciting new opportunity for caring & enthusiastic individual to join our ever growing team as a Head Cook at one of homes - The Hollies, based in Hessle!
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. HICA do not offer sponsorship to Non-UK Nationals.
Pay & Hours:
£13.00 per hour
40 hours per week
Working on a 7 day rota with alternate weekends.
The Role:
Provide planned meals to a high culinary standard with emphasis on presentation and quality, ensuring nutritional value and the dietetic needs are met.
Ensures that food is served appropriately, on time and meets all HICA standards.
Provides day-to-day supervision of all staff employed in the kitchen in the absence of the Chef.
Ensures a high standard quality of cleanliness throughout the kitchen area, ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene legislation and thorough implementation of the organisations HACCP system, and all other HICA policies and procedures.
Receives, checks and stores deliveries in line with the HACCP procedures in the absence of the Chef.
Responsible for purchasing and ordering within any guidelines given by the organisation.
Interact with Service Users professionally and respectfully, communicating and completing questionnaires.
Where necessary be responsible for serving food and beverages to Service Users
Who we are looking for:
Holds a relevant qualification for this role (or equivalent)
Previous experience of working in a Kitchen environment.
Excellent knowledge of individual dietary needs.
A good understanding of those with challenging behaviours.
Good communication and organisational skills.
