Summary

Quality Lab Technician

Acorn by Synergie are looking for a Quality Lab Technician cover 22.5 hours per week at a client's company, with some flexibility on the working pattern - either over three full days (7.5 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid break) or spread out across five shorter days. Previous laboratory experience would be preferred but isn't essential.

Location: Gloucester, GL11 5NA.
Pay: £14.36 per hour.
Duration: expected to last up to four months; however, it could be ended earlier based on business needs.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • To perform routine testing and release of raw materials and finished goods.
  • To prepare and / or composite raw materials and finished goods as required for laboratory testing and / or sending to external testing partners and customers.
  • To help with the upkeep of documentation filing system and retained samples store.
  • To assist in the environmental monitoring program by carrying out routine swabbing, water sampling and air sampling.
  • To log the samples in external testing partners portals.
  • Carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping of QC and laboratory areas.

Skill Requirements:

  • Previous lab experience preferred; however we will consider applicants without previous lab experience if they meet the rest of the skill requirements.
  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills.
  • Strong organisationally skills, including ability to follow assignments through to completion and to work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment.
  • Ability to act on own initiative, working alone or in a team environment.
  • Effective communicator who facilitates bottom up and top-down communication channels.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer.
