Summary


This post is within Nephrology, and is available for 12 months. The post holder will be working at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, predominantly based at the Royal site. Opportunity exists for any candidate wishing to pursue a career in Nephrology.

The post will cover training in all aspects of Nephrology i.e. haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, general nephrology and renal transplantation.

The post-holder will be responsible for regular review of patients in renal wards and patients dialysing on Lower Ground Floor Dialysis Unit. The post also involves in-patient supervision of approximately 20 patients in designated time period. It is envisaged that the post-holder will do ward rounds under supervision of renal registrars and renal consultants. The following patient problems will be reviewed regularly:

General Nephrology

Acute Kidney Injury

Chronic Renal Failure

Haemodialysis

Peritoneal Dialysis

Renal Transplantation

The post holder would take part in Nephrology On Call Rota, currently 1:8 (shift system) with supervision of On Call Nephrology Consultant and Registrar.
