Summary
The Chiller Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the service, maintenance, and commissioning of chiller and refrigeration systems across commercial and industrial sites. This hands-on role requires technical expertise in chillers, air handling units (AHUs), close control systems, and associated plant. The engineer will work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality maintenance solutions, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
The role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong fault-finding skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in both technical execution and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
Service, Maintenance & Commissioning
Carry out service, warranty, and commissioning works on chillers and refrigeration plant, including close control systems.
Perform routine planned maintenance and respond to reactive service calls across a variety of HVAC systems including AHUs and air conditioning units.
Diagnose, report, and repair faults to ensure system uptime and performance.
Monitor system functionality and make recommendations for improvement or replacement when necessary.
Health, Safety and Compliance
Work in accordance with company Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Safe Working Practices at all times.
Proactively identify risks and ensure RAMS are updated where site conditions change.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, clients, and visitors through responsible work practices.
Participate in safety briefings, audits, and incident reporting as required.
Documentation and Digital Systems
Accurately complete service reports, commissioning documents, and inspection checklists.
Maintain up-to-date records through the company’s CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) system.
Upload and manage documents including job sheets and stock control updates digitally.
Communication and Stakeholder Liaison
Communicate clearly with clients, site managers, and other trades to coordinate work activities.
Represent Arcade UK Ltd in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
Housekeeping and Vehicle Maintenance
Maintain the cleanliness of plant rooms, storage areas, and workshops to uphold professional site standards.
Ensure daily checks and cleanliness of company work vehicles and tools, reporting any defects or service needs.

Key Skills & Competencies
Extensive knowledge and experience of chiller systems and associated refrigeration plant.
Solid experience with AHUs and air conditioning maintenance.
Experience with close control and humidity control systems desirable.
Knowledge of building control and BMS (Building Management Systems).
Health and safety focused with a practical understanding of RAMS and worksite safety.
Computer literate and experienced in using CAFM systems for service logging and reporting.
Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and a proactive work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

F-Gas Category 1 Qualification – Essential
City & Guilds Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning – Essential
18th Edition Wiring Regulations – Desirable
Additional manufacturer or industry-recognised accreditations – Advantageous
Full UK driving licence required
Experience of humidity control - Desirable
