Summary

We are looking to recruit a Resident Engagement Manager within the Building Safety Team.
The introduction of major legislative changes in the Housing Sector, specifically the Building Safety Act 2022 and Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, has brought the opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated role to produce and maintain resident engagement strategies that are unique to each of Hull City Council’s Higher Risk Residential Buildings (HRRBs).
This challenging role will work closely with the Tenant Participation Team, High Rise Team and Housing Investment Team. You will identify and review the demographic and needs of residents within each HRRB and develop strategies to ensure all residents aged 16+ are listened to and can access all of the information they need.
Initially reporting to the Business Change Manager, this role’s line management is subject to change once decisions have been made on staffing structures to fulfil our responsibilities for building safety as a major Social Housing Provider.
This post will:

Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify the diverse and unique needs of each of Hull City Council’s HRRBs
Produce and manage strategies that serve the residents, allowing many opportunities to access vital information and feel listened to
Ensure that residents understand what is happening within their building, and their role in making it as safe as possible
Play a major role in building a healthy culture around safety, instilling confidence between Hull City Council and residents, that any issues are appropriately looked into and dealt with

You will have experience of working with multiple stakeholders and using various methods of communication and engagement. Knowledge of housing services and the wider housing landscape including challenges would be an advantage but not essential.
For an informal discussion please contact Rebecca Franks, Building Safety Manager 01482 616 237 or email Rebecca.Franks@hullcc.gov.uk or Sally Smith Tenant Experience, Influence and Support Manager 01482 614 342 or email Sally.Smith@hullcc.gov.uk
