HGV Mechanic (Portsmouth)
Location: Hampshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Mechanic
Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
Complete inspection sheets, job cards, and compliance documentation accurately
Ensure all repairs are completed to VOSA and DVSA standards
Support team efficiency and uphold a safe, tidy workshop
Participate in regular technical training to stay updated with latest practices
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Mechanic
Essential
Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
Previous experience working as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
Full UK Driving Licence
Strong diagnostic skills and a team-focused mindset
Desirable
HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
Experience using dealer-level diagnostic systems
IRTEC Accreditation
