Summary
Work with York Limited is working on behalf of a local authority client to recruit an Adult Education Tutor, covering Digital Skills and Business in York.
This is a part time, permanent role. To work up to 7 hours per week across more than one day, with a mixture of days and evenings. This is to be agreed in advance on a week by week basis, with the curriculum manager/tutor.
The hourly rate of pay is from £16.92 to £26.82
The main duties for the role include;
Delivering classes to learners, for both accredited and non-accredited provision, up to Level Three material in both digital skills and business skills
Working in multiple locations across York, with provision across six days a week, so they'll be opportunities for weekend/evening work
Although a lot of the work will be delivering existing courses, also consider new ideas for courses , that would fit into the York Learning digital and business offer
Much of the work would be in a flexible learning delivery, including qualifications in Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint etc from Level One to Level Three simultaneously. The candidate needs to be comfortable supporting learners working at a variety of different speeds and levels.
Qualification and Skills Required for the post;
A recognised teaching qualification, GCSE maths/English at C/4 or above, and Level Two ICDL or higher
Experience of delivering in a community education setting is preferably, but must have experience of education delivery
The ability to explain a concept to a wide variety of learners, with different starting points, who have previously found engaging with education a challenge
Be capable of supporting learners with additional support needs/challenges to their learning, and willing to go the extra mile to help our learners succeed
Be very capable with Microsoft Office as a significant part of the administration linked to the role is done using this package
