Job description Job Title: Clinical Psychologist Location: Broomhill Hospital, Holdenby Road Spratton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, NN6 8LD, England, UK Salary: 63k 73k (DOE) Hours: 40 hours per week Job Type:Full time, 6 month FTC About the service: Broomhill Hospital is a 99-bed independent, specialist mental health facility set in a beautifully refurbished former Victorian manor house in a peaceful rural location. The hospital offers acute and high-dependency rehabilitation care for individuals with severe and enduring mental illness, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge. It supports patients detained under the Mental Health Act, those under Section 117 aftercare, MoJ restrictions, and those on the Care Programme Approach (CPA). Broomhill remains a vital service for high-risk, high-need patients across the acute mental health pathway. Role Overview We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Broomhill Hospital. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality psychological services. Key Responsibilities Psychological Assessment and Intervention:Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using appropriate tools and methods. Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to individual needs. Formulation and Care Planning:Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop psychological formulations and contribute to care planning processes. Consultation and Training:Provide psychological consultation and training to staff members, enhancing the overall understanding and management of patients' psychological needs. Supervision and Development:Offer supervision to assistant psychologists and contribute to their professional development. Research and Service Evaluation:Engage in research activities and service evaluations to inform practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of services. Person Specification Essential: Doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent). HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. Experience in psychological assessment and intervention within mental health settings. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continuing professional development. Desirable: Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
