Summary
Southwark – Qualified Social Worker – Adult Safeguarding- £33.76
To undertake statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, specifically in relation to safeguarding adults at risk of abuse or neglect. The role involves leading safeguarding concerns and enquiries, applying professional judgement in complex cases, coordinating multi-agency responses, and ensuring personalised safeguarding practice in line with Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP).
Safeguarding Practice: Lead on safeguardng concerns on timely respond as well on risk assessment , lead S.42 safeguarding enquiries in accordance with Southwark’s Safeguarding Adults Procedures. Apply the three-stage test (has needs for care and support, is experiencing or at risk of abuse/neglect, and is unable to protect themselves) to determine eligibility for enquiries. Coordinate safeguarding strategy discussions, information gathering, risk assessments, and protection planning. Undertake strengths-based, person-centred assessments and ensure timely case recording on Mosaic. 2. Legal and Statutory Duties: Apply relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). Where appropriate, lead or contribute to best interest decisions and Court of Protection proceedings. Ensure safeguarding practice is compliant with Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board policies and London Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures.

Essential Requirements:
Degree/Masters in Social Work and SWE registration.
2+ years of post-qualification experience.
Strong knowledge of UK social care legislation and practice.
