We’re looking for a kind, attentive and open-hearted carer to help look after our wonderful Mum, an 80-year old Asian - Hindu Punjabi - lady, living in her own home.
Mum is a gentle, calm and thoughtful person. She's warm, friendly and easy to be around. While she’s understandably a little quieter these days, she still enjoys light conversation and company. She has experienced deep loss recently yet she remains strong, dignified and giving. She lives for her family, and we’re hoping to find someone who can support her with kindness, patience, and a steady presence.
Who We’re Looking ForMore than experience, we’re looking for the right person with the right heart. Someone who is:
- Empathetic, attentive and considerate
- Willing to learn, and open to gentle guidance on how Mum likes things done
- Reliable, patient, and calm – with a real desire to help someone live comfortably and with dignity
Help Mum Needs:
- Support with bathing and dressing (gentle handling is important, as she’s recovering from a fractured shoulder)
- Cooking – breakfast and lunch during the shift, and a light evening meal every other day
- Light household help – including ironing and cleaning (the house is already very clean and well kept)
- Walks and outings when the weather is good
- Accompanying her to GP appointments or social gatherings
- And above all: kind, calm companionship
- (Driving and having a car would be a bonus, but it is by no means essential)
- Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 2 hours each day (timing flexible)
- £12.50 per hour, with potential for a pay review once things settle and trust is built
If you’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping others, is dependable and has a kind and patient nature – we’d really love to hear from you. We’d love to welcome someone into Mum’s life who will care for her with the same gentleness and respect that she's always shown to others.
