Summary

We are seeking a Nursery Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Brookwood Primary School, part of Bourne Education Trust.
As a learning support assistant, you will be responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners. Ensuring the effective support of pupil welfare and the inclusion of all pupils in all aspects of school life in line with school and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and the values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.
As our nursery is opening in September 2025, this is a great chance to be part of the nursery from the very beginning and help create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest students!

Position: Learning Support Assistant
Contract: Permanent, part time (term time only)
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am - 3:15pm
Salary: Surrey Pay Scale 3 (£23,576 FTE, actual salary £16,612.99)

Key responsibilities include:
• Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils.
• Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, using play to help children learn and develop.
• Ensure children are safe and nurtured.
• Promote and support the development of pupils’ social and emotional needs.
• Plan and supervise games and activities.
Requirements include:
Essential
• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification).
• Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification.
• Relevant experience of working with children.
Desirable
• Relevant experience of working with children in an education setting.
