  About the role
  In this Yard Operative position, you will play a vital part in the smooth day-to-day operations of a busy equipment hire depot. You’ll be responsible for preparing a range of hire equipment, maintaining a clean and organised yard, and supporting the team with deliveries, collections, and loading customer orders. Your forklift licence will be essential in assisting with stock movement and vehicle loading.

  Key duties of the Yard Operative:

  • Cleaning and preparing hire equipment for customer use

    
    

  • Receiving and checking returned equipment

    
    

  • Maintaining yard and workshop cleanliness and safety

    
    

  • Loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift

    
    

  • Building customer orders and ensuring timely dispatch

    
    

  • Occasional deliveries and collections using company vehicles

    
    

  • Supporting with general depot tasks as required

    
    

    To be successful in this role you may have:

    • Forklift License (Essential)

      
      

    • Previous experience working as a Yard Operative, Warehouse Operative, Labourer or similar

      
      

    • Good Communication Skills

      
      • Proactive Attitude
