Summary


The post-holder will work as part of the Advanced Analytics Unit to provide evidence, tools, analysis and insights in support of national and regional projects. The post-holder will bring, and be supported to further develop, real technical analytical expertise across disciplines such as modelling, statistics, data science, operational research and/or health economics. The post-holder will bepassionate about the contribution they can make to effective decision making. They will be experienced in delivering all aspects of the analytics life cycle, including requirements gathering, analytical methodologies, presentation and interpretation, and able to work with decision makers to achieve real impact.

They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the Advanced Analytics Unit. The post-holder will have strong coding skills to support the automation of reporting and the development of pipelines to feed dashboards. In particular, to include proficient in coding using R studio and pyspark, able to use Github, and able to develop dashboards using tableau, databricks, and/or FDP. The post-holder should have strong requirements gathering skills to understand and design new reporting and dashboards. They should have strong management skills required to lead the day-to-day analysis for the Martha’s rule programme and ensure the team of analysts supporting the programme are clear on their work, that analysis is suitably quality assured, and that the programme team’s requirements are met.

• Gather, analyse and interpret complex information, including both quantitative and qualitative, from a wide range of sources taking account of confidentiality and the limitations of the data used.
• Translate verbal and written business requirements into briefs for analytical projects
• Review and appraise published research, grey literature, healthcare policies and organisational activity and financial plans
• Hold extensive knowledge of NHS data and able to create linked datasets
• Select and apply the most appropriate analytical technique, underpinned by robust statistical understanding
• Provide advanced analytical services to strategic healthcare projects and programmes in the form of descriptive analyses, prospective service modelling, retrospective analyses and evaluation
• Utilise modelling and forecasting techniques to predict future need and demand.
• Lead economic and quantitative evaluations using econometric and decision modelling techniques
• Automate reporting and develop data pipelines
• Scope and develop reporting outputs, including dashboard development in Tableau and/or FDP
• Lead delivery of analytical work programmes, matrix managing across multiple staff not under direct line management
