Summary
Gearbox Fitter / Technician:
Due to successful growth year after year, my client is looking for a Gearbox Fitter / Technician to join their team
- Location: Near Highbridge
- Salary: 38K to 45k DOE
- Job Type: Full-Time, permanent
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm
- Company pension

Gearbox Fitter / Technician Responsibilities:
- Removing and refitting transmissions and drive train systems including clutches and dual mass flywheels
- Performing diagnostic checks and road tests
- Preparing the workshop each morning and securing vehicles at close
- Maintaining a clean and organised work space
- Liaising with the office and workshop team
- Accurately following job sheets and instructions
Gearbox Fitter / Technician Criteria:
- Previous experience of working as a Drive Train Fitter - preferred but not essential
- Experience as a Semi-Skilled Vehicle Mechanic - Minimum 3 years essential with IMI level 3 in hybrid / electrical vehicle repair preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Able to work independently and safely with minimal supervision
- Good communication and listening skills
- Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
- Must own a set of tools
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret fault codes (especially for automatic systems)
- Excellent attention to detail and safety
- Physically able to handle heavy vehicle components
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
