We see a total outpatient volume of over 14,000 spread across the sites with specialist clinics that include MSK ultrasound, Early Arthritis and Connective Tissue Disease. We also run multi-specialty clinics with Respiratory Medicine, Ophthalmology and Plastic Surgery.
We have close working relationships with all general medical services as well as the Departments of Radiology, Orthopaedic surgery, Paediatrics, Neurology, Academic Chest Medicine, Ophthalmology and Immunology. We hold several multi-specialty clinics and multidisciplinary meetings which ensure the delivery of high quality effective and safe care. The department provides general rheumatology care, and is a centre for providing specialized rheumatology services.

This post is designed to support the continued development and delivery of rheumatology general and specialized services and includes contributions to general internal medicine. Contributions to the GIM ward rounds will be deemed an essential part of this role. We would be delighted to support you with any subspecialty interests. The Trust has a Medical Day Unit where 1155 rheumatology patients per year attend for treatment. The Department admits about 180 rheumatology inpatients a year. You will have continuing responsibility for patients in your care and to support the functioning of the department. You will be a team player and provide on a reciprocal basis, emergency cover for colleagues during periods of absence. You will carry out teaching duties as required and take an active part in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education programme. The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
