Summary
We are looking to recruit a Learning and Basic Skills Support Assistant (LABSSA) to join our Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team for 34 hours a week, during term time, on a permanent basis.
The role will involve visiting Ceredigion primary and secondary schools to support staff to deliver high standards of effective intervention programmes.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- visit schools to observe and/or deliver intervention sessions with pupils
- monitor and provide feedback regarding the standards of intervention provision
- provide advice and model appropriate strategies and resources to meet learners’ needs appropriately in order to raise standards and ensure pupil progress
We are looking to recruit an individual who has:
- experience in leading a range of Ceredigion interventions within schools
- experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs
- attended and received a certificate for attending the majority of the following training courses:
- Satpin / Trandep intervention
- Cyfri Ceredigion intervention
Attended a range of the following training courses:
- Catch Up and/or Reading with Understanding intervention
- Personal Dictionaries intervention
- Lego Intervention
- Sensory Circuits intervention
- interest in working towards the HLTA qualification where this is not already in place
In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 34 hours pro rata over 5 days a week, during school term time only.
